बूढ़ों की तरह सर पे, साये हैं देखना
ये मां की तरह खंडहर, जागें हैं देखना
ये साथीयों से खंडहर, आंखों में देखना
बरसों से हाथ थामे, चले हैं देखना
फिर भी मिटायें आज इनकी, क्यूं हम निशानी
ज़िंदा विरासत खो रही है अपनी कहानी
ईरान की ये मिट्टी, मुलतान की ये मिट्टी
मिट्टी कज़ाखीयों की, अफ्रीकीयों की मिट्टी
ये लाल काली मिट्टी, हिंदोस्तां की मिट्टी

Touch these ruins, touch and feel,
Listen to their breath, feel their silence.
Tears flowing silently – see them,
And the imprints of human hands.
Living heritage is losing glory,
The shared heritage is telling its story
See flowers in the stone lattice,
See mud bricks baked in the sun,
Behold the coating and aaraish in lime
Coolness of moonlight in scorching heat.
Standing tall with heads held high for centuries –
Each one endearing, like the Taj Mahal!
