મારા વારસામાં આવી’તી લીલી વાડી
મારે વારસામાં દેવી રે લીલી વાડી
મારી વાડીને મારે ઝેર કેમ આપવું?
આવી વાડીને મારે ઝેર કેમ આપવું?
મારા ખેતરની ખુશ્બુ તો દૂર દૂર જાય
એમાં કેટલાંયે નાના નાના જીવો રચાય
આવા જીવોને મારે ઝેર નથી આપવું
મારી આંગળીથી રૂ જેવું ખેતર ખેડાય
એને એક દાણો આપું તો સો દાણા થાય
આવા ખેતરને મારે ઝેર નથી આપવું
મારી વાડીના ચારાથી ઢોરાં ધરાય
એના છાણીયા રે ખાતરથી વાડી લે’રાય,
આવાં ઢોરાંને મારે ઝેર નથી આપવું
મારૂં ખેતર તો ચાર ટીપાં ભેજથી ધરાય
એની ઠંડી ઠંડી માટીમાં ઝાકળ સમાય
આવી માટીને મારે ઝેર નથી આપવું
મારા ખેતરમાં ઢાલીયા, અળસિયા દેખાય
એમાં પંખીઓ, પતંગિયા ને ઝાડવાંઓ ગાય
આવી કુદરતને મારે ઝેર નથી આપવું
મારી વાડીના દાણાં તો દૂર દૂર જાય,
એમાં કોણ જાણે કેટલાંયે માનવી ધરાય
આવા માનવને મારે ઝેર નથી આપવું
આવા ઝેરોથી ખેતી ને ખેડુ યે જાય,
હવે કરીએ સજીવ ખેતી એવું સમજાય,
મારી ખેતીને મારે ઝેર નથી આપવું

मैंने पुरखों से पाई थी बाड़ी हरी
मुझे पीढ़ियों को देनी है बाड़ी हरी
मेरी बाड़ी को मैं ज़हर कैसे दे दूं रे
ऐसी बाड़ी को मैं ज़हर कैसे दे दूं रे
मेरे खेतों की खुशबू तो दूर दूर जाये
इसमें लाखों-हज़ारों जीव यूं ही रचायें
ऐसे जीवों को मैं ज़हर कैसे दे दूं रे
मैंने उंगली से जोता ये रुई जैसा खेत
इसे एक दाना दूं तो ये सौ दाने देत
ऐसे खेतां को मैं ज़हर कैसे दे दूं रे
मेरी बाड़ी के चारे से गोरू अघाए
इनके गोबर की खादों से बाड़ी लहराए
ऐसे गोरु को मैं ज़हर कैसे दे दूं रे
मेरी बाड़ी तो चार बूँद नमी से अघाए
इसकी ठंडी ठंडी माटी में ओस समाये
ऐसी माटी को मैं ज़हर कैसे दे दूं रे
मेरी बाड़ी को कीट और केंचुए सजाएं
यहाँ तितलियां, पंछी व् पेड़ गीत गायें
ऐसी कुदरत को मैं ज़हर कैसे दे दूं रे
मेरी बाड़ी के दाने तो दूर दूर जायें
इनमें कौन जाने कितने ही इन्साँ पल जायें
ऐसे इन्सानों को ज़हर कैसे दे दूं रे
ऐसे जहरों में खेती किसान डूब जायें
अभी कर लें सजीव खेती ऐसा समझाएं

I inherited this farm so lush and green
Want to bequest a farm as lush and green
How can I poison my farm?
How can I poison this farm?
The fragrance of my farm spreads far and wide
In it, a million tiny lives grow and thrive
These lives I won’t poison
This farm soft as cotton, my fingers can plough
A hundred grains it returns for every grain I sow
This farm I won’t poison
Cattle are nourished with the fodder from my farm
Their manure makes the farm sway and dance
These animals I won’t poison
My farm is happy with four drops of moisture
Its soil so cool soaks the dew which nurtures
This soil I won’t poison
On my farm beetle-bugs and earthworms thrive
Songs of trees, birds and butterflies, make it alive
This nature I won’t poison
The grains from my farm go places far and wide
Who knows how many humans feed and are satisfied
These humans I won’t poison
These poisons ruin farms and the farmers alike

एक किसान का दृढ संकल्प – खेत, मानव और धरती को रसायण-मुक्त रखने के लिए। क़ुदरत के प्रति गहरे प्रेम और रासायण-मुक्त खेती करने वाले किसानों के संघर्ष से प्रेरित।
गुजरात के जैविक खेती अभियान के लिए लिखा गीत। आइये अपने आहार-श्रृंखला और इस धरती को ज़हर मुक्त करें।
Zer Nathi Aapvu - Context
The resolve of a farmer to not to poison her/his farm, humans and nature. Inspired by the deep love for mother nature, commitment and the struggles of the organic farmers.
Written for the organic farming campaign of Gujarat. Let us make our food chain and this planet poison free.
